How a pay at pickup order form works
Take reservations online and agree payment directly with each customer when they collect. Set the available quantities, order cutoff, and pickup details, then share one page. Customers reserve from that menu and pay in person at pickup.
The free plan includes CSV downloads for customer emails, orders, batches, items, prep lists, and discount codes. Stripe payments and automated customer emails are planned paid features, not live integrations.
Set up the page and share it
- 01List the batch and available quantities
Add each product or bundle as a separate choice, show its price, and set a limit that matches what you can make or source. Explain any options that change the amount due.
- 02Set the handover details
Choose pickup dates and times, name the exact meeting point, and explain what customers should do when they arrive. State how you will take offline payment at collection.
- 03Share the reservation link
Send the same link to every customer so their selections and pickup details land in the same order list. Close the batch at the cutoff you have stated.
- 04Reconcile orders at pickup
Use the order list to check each reservation, collect payment directly, and mark the handover as complete. Keep the order record as your preparation reference.
Copy-ready messages
Edit each example before sharing; messages do not send automatically.
Reserve your items for {pickup date} using this order page: {link}. Choose your pickup time and check the collection instructions before submitting. Payment is made directly to us when you collect.
Your order is set for pickup at {location}, {time}. Please have your order name ready when you arrive. Payment is collected at handover using {offline method}; see you then.
What changes when orders are in one place?
- A message thread can capture the item but miss the collection time; the form records both together.
- A seller may mistake an unpaid reservation for a paid sale; the pickup list keeps the order visible while payment is taken in person.
- Cash totals are hard to reconcile from separate notes; one order list shows what each customer reserved.
- Customers may assume online checkout is available; a clear pay-at-pickup note sets expectations before they place an order.
Practical tips for using a pay at pickup order form
- State that payment is collected in person before customers submit the form.
- Name the offline payment method only if you actually accept it; confirm cash handling or other arrangements directly.
- Allow a little space between pickup windows if you need to verify orders or manage a queue.
- Download the order CSV before collection and keep the list accessible at the handover point.
- If an order is not collected, follow up directly; automated customer emails are not currently sent.
Check inventory and pickup details before sharing; do not promise features that are not live.
Frequently asked questions
Does Preorder Form charge a fee for pay-at-pickup orders?
No. Preorder Form is free when customers pay you in person at pickup. The platform does not process that offline payment. Any separate payment arrangement is between you and the customer.
Can customers pay cash when they collect?
You can arrange cash or another offline method directly with customers. Explain the accepted method on your page or in your pickup message, and bring the order list so you can match each payment to the right reservation.
Does the order form reserve stock before payment?
Customers reserve from the available quantities shown on the page, then pay at handover. Keep your stock allocation aligned with those reservations and do not treat an order as paid until you collect the payment.
Is Preorder Form free to use?
Yes. Preorder Form is free when customers reserve online and pay you in person at pickup. You can set up a page, manage item quantities, and download customer email addresses, orders, batches, items, prep lists, and discount codes as CSV files. Stripe payments and automated email sending are planned paid features and are not live yet.
Can customers pay online?
Online payment processing is not available yet. The current free workflow lets customers reserve items online and pay you at pickup using an offline method you arrange with them. Stripe payments are planned for a future paid plan; do not promise a card checkout until that feature is released.
